Homeless but Not Hopeless
Once upon a time, not too long ago, I ended up homeless and nowhere to go
This is a problem and never thought I would see the day
I had no place to call my own after a hospital stay
I had worked with so many people in this mess before
I even served in ministry for my friends managing a store
I made it through like I always have been able to
With my friends and my faith there’s nothing I cannot do
I stayed at a place in Jefferson City, Tennessee
The name is the Samaritan House and they took great care of me
I was able to keep my job, volunteer and save up for a home
After a long time now my family no more has to roam
If you would like to make a donation to this amazing place
They ladies and children will all have very big smiles on their face

They take items like food, clothing, toiletries, furniture big and small
At the bottom of the poem will be a number you can call
This may sound ungrateful and don’t take this the wrong way
Nobody likes off brand peanut butter, not even homeless folks, okay?
Choosy Moms Choose Jif and everyone will be so glad
You paid a dollar or so more for a brand that’s not so bad
